Things you can do to get started

  • Find or start a Transition Initiative in your town at TransitionColorado.ning.com, where you can network with others and connect with Transition goings-on throughout Colorado
  • Volunteer for
  • Become a "Pollinator," sharing information about Transition with others, networking, and getting others involved
  • Read the Transition Handbook by Rob Hopkins
  • Watch The Crash Course by Chris Martenson
  • Participate or volunteer at Great Reskilling workshops and other Transition events
  • Serve on a Steering Committee to guide the BUY LOCAL FIRST!, EAT LOCAL!, GROW LOCAL!, LOCAL ENERGY! or LOCAL CURRENCY! efforts
  • Join the Slow Money Alliance. Slow Money Boulder has its own Google Group.
  • Support local organic farmers by joining a CSA (you can find Boulder County CSAs in our Eat Local! Resource Guide). Others can be found through the National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service
  • Switch your banking to a local credit union that genuinely cares about the community
  • Join your local Independent Business Alliance or BALLE (Business Alliance for Local Living Economies) chapter
  • Become a Transition sponsor or provide referrals to potential sponsors
  • Donate! Your funds can help us do the coalition building and training needed to create a strong local community.
